Choreographer and Artistic Director Lili de Grammont builds powerful, sensorial narratives that connect with audiences on a universal level.
My work explores the textures of human experience through a unique Brazilian lens. As the current Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer for the São José dos Campos Dance Company, I create and direct large-scale productions, but my practice extends to a variety of collaborative formats.
São José dos Campos Dance Company brings us Voyeur / Samba and Love, a striking double bill which captivates and inspires. Voyeur examines how we watch and are watched, and how the self comes undone and redone. Likewise vulnerable, Samba and Love takes on burnout in the modern age through samba rhythms which express both defeat and desire.
I believe in dance as a powerful language, capable of transcending borders and telling stories that matter. From sold-out theaters to exclusive commissions, my goal is to deliver authentic and unforgettable artistic encounters.
Here are three ways to bring my artistic vision to your audience, company, or institution:
Spectables for Touring
for Festival Programmers and Curators
Engage your audience with a full-length, tour-ready spectacle. These are finished, critically-acclaimed works that showcase the vibrancy and technical depth of Brazilian contemporary dance. A powerful option for programmers looking to purchase a complete, ready-to-stage production.
Commissioned Creations
for Artistic Directors and Companies
Commission an exclusive, tailor-made choreography for your dancers. I work in close collaboration with companies to develop a unique piece that aligns with your artistic identity while bringing a distinct Brazilian sensibility. This can be a solo creation or a co-creation with my long-time musical partner, Ed Côrtes.
Workshops & Immersive Classes
for Universities, Dance Companies and Institutions
A practical immersion into my creative process and movement research. I offer dynamic workshops on improvisation, contemporary technique, and choreographic composition, adaptable for different technical levels. An enriching experience for students and professional dancers alike.
A selection of available works for touring and remounting.
Many of my creations feature original soundtracks by the acclaimed composer Ed Côrtes, known for his work on the Oscar-nominated film City of God. Our partnership combines choreography and music into a single, indivisible artistic body, creating a potent and uniquely Brazilian sonic and visual landscape for the stage.
I am currently in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and available to connect.
Whether you are interested in a finished spectacle, a new creation, or an immersive workshop, I would love to hear from you.
